Two-phase sampling notation

This technical article presents a proposed notation framework for the design and analysis of two-phase samples, where new variables are measured on a subsample from an existing cohort. It addresses complexities involving measurement error, missing data, and sampling, defining terms for sampling weights, outcome models, imputation models, and calibration constraints to bring consistency to the field.
