Hello from Ares!

Read Original

The author details the development of Ares OS, a new operating system. Since an initial demo, it has gained userspace processes, fork/exec, threads, and drivers for PCI, AHCI, PS/2, serial, VGA, and ext4 filesystems. It includes ports of software like the lwext4 library, an rc shell, and the ed(1) text editor, built on a custom C library. Future plans include a VFS, pipes, shell features, more filesystem support, a framebuffer console, and EFI support.
